Annual Fund Drives are Vital For Community Ambulance Services

East Pennsboro Emergency Medical Services relies on community support to help maintain a community based ambulance service. Annual Fund Drives are vital to our community ambulance service, raising necessary funds to purchase and maintain equipment needed to provide the services you expect and deserve. We take great pride in serving the community, and greatly appreciate your continued financial support to remain community based.

Less than 2% of our annual operating budget is generated from municipal tax dollars. East Pennsboro Emergency Medical Services uses other funding sources, such as third party billing, donations, annual membership drives and this annual fund drive to support our operations.

How has your support helped in the past?

We are excited to announce the anticipated arrival of our 2026 Medix Specialty Vehicles RP90 Ambulance in April 2026. This state-of-the-art unit will come factory-equipped with the Stryker Power-LOAD system, enhancing safety and efficiency for both patients and providers.

This new addition will replace our 2010 Horton Ambulance, originally acquired from Marysville Fire Company EMS in 2015, continuing our commitment to modernizing our fleet and delivering exceptional emergency medical services to the community.

In May 2025, we proudly installed our first Stryker Power-LOAD system—a game-changer in patient and provider safety. By July, we added two more to our fleet!

These advanced systems hydraulically lift and lower stretchers, reducing physical strain and virtually eliminating the need for manual lifting. It’s a major step forward in protecting our team and enhancing patient care.

In March 2023, we took delivery of a new ambulance from R Enterprises, LLC. who specializes in remounting ambulance boxes onto new chassis. This was our first Ford chassis in a while and it is proving to be a positive change.

In November 2017, we replaced an aging 2007 ambulance with a new 2015 Chevrolet Ambulance from Medix Specialty Vehicles. We were able to secure one of the last Chevrolet Medium Duty Diesel Chassis’ from the ambulance manufacturer, saving nearly $25,000 compared to purchasing a truck style front chassis, as diesel vans are no longer being manufactured.

This capital purchase is part of our planned ten year rotation of emergency vehicles to ensure maintenance costs are kept to a manageable level.

In 2015, a fourth ambulance was added to our fleet of emergency vehicles. This addition will help properly rotate and maintain vehicles, which will increase the longevity of our fleet.

In 2013, battery powered hydraulic stretchers were purchased to replace manual lift stretchers in our emergency division. These stretchers have become industry standard for emergency medical services, reducing the risk of injury to our emergency staff and enhancing patient care.
