Non-Emergency Routine Ambulance Service

A BLS Transporting ambulance unit that provides non-emergent medical transportation services for patients on a scheduled basis. BLS ambulances are manned by a minimum of one emergency medical technician and one emergency responder, as mandated by Pa. Dept of Health. These services are available to patients who are bed confined and whose condition is such that other methods of transportation are contraindicated, or the patient's medical condition, regardless of bed confinement, is such that transportation by ambulance is medically required. Physician Medical Necessity Certifications (PMNC's) are typically required by health insurance companies following Medicare guidelines.

Wheelchair Services

Wheelchair and Stretcher Transportation Service

Transportation of patients requiring non-emergent medical transportation on a scheduled basis, who do not meet medical necessity guidelines for BLS Services. Although this service is not covered by most Health Insurances, this is a more cost effective means of transportation for patients who cannot be safely transported by personal vehicle. Examples for non-emergency transport include:

      • Transportation of patients from nursing facilities to Physician's Offices.
      • Hospital discharges
      • Dialysis appointments

Quick Response Service (QRS)
